Trying to find a paint color to match an unknown existing wall color or explore lighter, darker, or complementary hues? FindPaintColor assists in identifying the best-match paint colors from a vast selection offered by major paint vendors. This is achieved through the analysis of a photo capturing your unknown color alongside a specified white color chip obtainable at no cost from your paint supplier. The photo is captured within the application under natural lighting conditions.
While other high-precision solutions typically necessitate an external color sensor, FindPaintColor leverages the iPhone camera and advanced image processing, eliminating the need for a separate color measurement device. The app's accuracy rivals that of external color sensors, providing insights into the nearest matching color chips, including those that may not commonly be showcased at your local paint store. By doing so, it streamlines the process, reducing the back and forth trips to the store and alleviating the hassle of carrying physical samples.
The application seamlessly identifies paints from four leading paint vendors: Behr, Benjamin Moore, PPG, and Sherwin Williams. Additionally, it pinpoints colors that are either deeper or lighter in shade compared to your original color, as well as complementary hues employing industry-standard color wheel principles.
Moreover, FindPaintColor supplies 'sRGB' (standard Red Green Blue) values for cross-referencing paints from other vendors and displays HSV (Hue Saturation Value) and LRV (Light Reflectance Value) figures to facilitate a numerical comparison of colors alongside visual evaluation.
